Overview

Brunel University London is a campus university located in Uxbridge, north-west London. It is within walking distance of the London Underground, just a 40-minute ride into the city and 20 minutes away from Heathrow Airport. It is one of the UK’s most ambitious, forward-looking universities and home to just under 18,000 students from over 150 countries.

Brunel is in the top quarter of universities in the world and ranked as 40th in the UK (QS World University Rankings 2024) with 95% of courses offering a one year’s placement year and over 100 taught master's degrees, enabling students to become an expert in their chosen field.

Brunel guarantees accommodation on campus for the duration of studies (T&Cs apply).  They are also ranked joint 1st in the UK and 4th in the world for ‘international outlook’ by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024. Expanding horizons and gaining new perspectives through Brunel’s international community.

Services

Brunel University London offers a range of services for international students that aim to assist them with their academic, personal, and social lives while at the University. Brunel International is a key contact point for all international students, with over 40 staff members in various departments able to supplement general academic support.

For new students, Brunel runs a popular 3-day orientation course recommended by 95 per cent of past participants. Student Services also organises regular trips, events, and workshops for students, while a personal tutor provides personal support. If you wish to travel to the UK with your family, the University runs a special family and partners club.

A recent survey placed Brunel graduates 13th in the UK for average starting salaries, with the figure of £22,000 being almost £3,000 above the national average. The University also excels in student satisfaction across physiotherapy, politics and history.

REF 2021, an independent assessment of the quality of research at universities across the country, placed 21.1% of Brunel’s submitted work in this top category, up from 14.3% in 2014, the last time the REF was conducted – and with work submitted from a total of 659 researchers, compared to 605 last time. Overall, 72.7% of Brunel’s submissions were assessed as being world-leading or internationally excellent, an increase from the previous score of 61%.

Accommodation

Brunel University London offers accommodation both on and off campus. Housing often compares favourably to other London prices, and the University Housing Office supports all students. Over 4,500 rooms are available on campus, with en-suite facilities standard in the 34 residence halls. Bedding is also provided, and linen is changed once a week.

The University has invested over £400 million in halls of residence and campus infrastructure in the last decade, and during the 2012 Olympic Games, the South Korean Olympic and Canadian Paralympic teams stayed at Brunel accommodation.
