Ashinaga Warwick Scholarship

Overview

The brightest minds from across Sub-Saharan Africa, who have been orphaned or grown up with a single parent, will have the opportunity to study at the University of Warwick, thanks to a new partnership with the Ashinaga Association in the UK. These scholarships are aimed at future leaders who will use their education to support their continent’s development.

The scholarships started in September 2022 and we are pleased to confirm these scholarships will also run in 2023.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must have citizenship and have completed/are completing high school in one of the following countries (*Proof of nationality will be requested when a scholarship is offered):

• Angola

• Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi

• Cabo Verde, CAR, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire

• Djibouti, DRC

• Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea

• Gabon, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry

• Kenya, Kingdom of eSwatini

• Lesotho, Liberia

• Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique

• Namibia, Niger, Nigeria

• Republic of Congo, Rwanda

• São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Seychelles, Sudan

• Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo

• Uganda

• Zambia and Zimbabwe

Fee Status: Overseas

Number of Awards Available:

We are pleased to offer 25 scholarships for students from sub-Saharan Africa to study and live at Warwick for 3-4 years.

Value of Awards:

The chosen scholars will receive:

• Full tuition fees paid by Warwick’s Undergraduate Global Excellence Scholarships; travel, visa, and living costs paid by Ashinaga UK

• Leadership training from Ashinaga UK

• Summer funding for internships to develop professional skills

• Dedicated support from Ashinaga UK staff
