University of Reading Master’s Scholarships
Overview
The University of Reading Master’s Scholarship schemes are now open for applications for 2024/25. The University of Reading offers an extensive range of scholarships to master’s students. Some awards are provided directly by the University, others are allocated to our students by donors and sponsors and a few are jointly funded. We are delighted that in 2024/25 we will be offering more funding than in any previous year.
The University of Reading’s Master’s Scholarships Scheme offers three funding opportunities:
-
Centenary Scholarships – To mark the upcoming 100th anniversary of our Royal Charter, the University is offering 125 scholarships for which all master’s students are eligible to apply. These awards have been allocated to particular countries.
-
Subject Scholarships – These awards are provided by most of our Schools and are course-specific. Students may be considered for both this scholarship and the Centenary Scholarship.
-
Alumni Master’s Scholarships – These scholarships are funded by the generosity of university donors and provide financial support for alumni who have previously studied at the University of Reading.
There are two rounds of scholarship applications received. Round One closes on 1 March 2024 and Round Two will consider applications received by 31 May 2024.
Key information
-
To apply for funding, a candidate must have received an offer of admission to one our master’s courses.
-
You do not have to pay a deposit before applying for a scholarship
-
Study may be on a full-time or part-time basis but flexible learning / part-time modular master’s courses are excluded.
-
The Centenary and Subject Scholarships for an international student is worth £5,000 and for UK / Republic of Ireland students (whose tuition fees are ordinarily lower) the amount is £2,500.
-
Both the Centenary and Subject Scholarships take the form of a tuition fee reduction and your tuition fees are confirmed when an offer of admission is made.
-
The Alumni Master’s Scholarship is a financial grant paid directly to the student, and is the same amount (£3000) for both International and UK students.
-
Scholarships are awarded primarily based on previous academic accomplishment.
-
Where a candidate is eligible for each of the three scholarships (Centenary, Subject and Alumni Master’s Scholarships), it is only necessary to complete one application – you will only be considered for any of the three awards you are eligible for, but it is possible to be selected for all three.
Deadline
Application will close on 31 May 2024
