Early Confirmation Scholarship
Overview
A £1500 reduction in tuition fees is available to new international students beginning a full-time course in the academic year 2024/25 who hold an unconditional offer and pay their net tuition fees by the following deadlines:
Undergraduate unconditional offer holders 31 August 2024.
Postgraduate Taught unconditional offer holders 31 August 2024.
Postgraduate Research unconditional offer holders not later than 90 days before the start date given in their offer letter.
May be used in conjunction with other scholarships where eligible.
Terms and Conditions Early Confirmation Award 2024/25

The Early Confirmation Award discount is exclusively available to new international students beginning a full-time course in the academic year 2024/25. Exclusions apply – see point 10 below.

Students must hold an unconditional offer of a place on a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2024/25 and pay their net tuition fees in full by the following deadlines:

Undergraduate unconditional offer holders 31 August 2024.

Postgraduate Taught unconditional offer holders 31 August 2024.

Postgraduate Research unconditional offer holders not later than 90 days before the start date given in their offer letter.

Net tuition fees = tuition fees less any scholarship previously notified by International Scholarships and the Early Confirmation Award. For confirmation of the total to be paid contact International Scholarships
This is to prevent delays in CAS issuance during the peak period.

Students wishing to avail of the Early Confirmation Award discount must email proof of transfer to International Scholarships. Students who do not confirm their payment to International Scholarships may find their discount is not applied.

The discount is awarded for the first year only of an eligible programme.

The Early Confirmation Award may be used in conjunction with other awards administered by International Office scholarships and may also be used in conjunction with the Brickfield Exceptional Student Scholarship and the MBA Scholarships offered by Queen’s Business School. Please contact International Scholarships for confirmation of eligible awards.

Students must be classified as international fee-paying students paying the full international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this discount. Students paying NI or GB fees are not eligible for the Early Confirmation Award discount.

Students must be self-funded.

Where Queen’s University Belfast has agreed discounted tuition fees with partner institutions, those students should check their eligibility by contacting International Scholarships.

If you are in receipt of funding (either tuition fees or tuition fees and living costs) from an external sponsorship body such as Government, a charity or a private organisation you will not be eligible for the Early Confirmation Award discount.

The following programmes are excluded from eligibility for the Early Confirmation Award discount:

Undergraduate: Medicine, Dentistry, Agricultural Technology, Theology.

ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.

Postgraduate: PG Certificate and PG Diploma programmes, MTh Theology.

ALL Distance Learning programmes, foundation degree programmes and non-standard fee courses, including part-time programmes.

External PhD programmes where students only undertake part of their research at Queen’s University.

Higher Doctorates - Doctor of Divinity (DD), Doctor of Laws (LLD), Doctor of Letters (DLitt), Doctor of Science (DSc), Doctor of Science (Economics) (DSc (Econ)), Doctor of Science, (Education) (DSc (Ed)) and Doctor of Social Science (DSSc).

If you exit on a lower qualification (i.e., a PG Diploma instead of a Master's degree), you will not be eligible for the full scholarship.

A student may receive an Early Confirmation Award discount only once during their career at Queen’s University Belfast.

Students who have previously been awarded an Early Bird Reward or INTO Progression Scholarship are not eligible to receive the Early Confirmation Award.

Applicants may apply and/or be considered for more than one award administered by Queen’s University Belfast but if successful would receive only the highest value award with the lower value award cancelled or allocated to another applicant. With the exception of those administered by International Scholarships see Point 5 above.

The Early Confirmation Award cannot be used in conjunction with any other University scholarships with the exception of those administered by International Scholarships and those specifically detailed in Point 5 above. To confirm eligibility, contact International Scholarships.

Students who are required to successfully complete a Pre-Sessional English programme at QUB INTO in order to satisfy the English language condition of their offer, are NOT eligible for the Early Confirmation Award.

INTO students progressing to a full-time programme at the Queen’s University Belfast campus starting in the academic year 2024/25 are not eligible for the Early Confirmation Award.

The University reserves the right to vary all or any scholarship awards, discounts and regulations at its sole discretion.
