More information

Access to education is one contributing factor leading to the underrepresentation of women in Economics and Finance. Therefore, the objective of this programme is to help address this situation by providing opportunities for women globally to continue with their studies in Economics and Finance.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be or identify as a woman.

  • You must meet the entry requirements for the programme you have applied for, including academic equivalents and English language.

  • Have not previously studied at an MSc degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK.

  • Are willing to contribute to promoting post-graduate studies in Economics and Finance at QMUL and to engage other women and girls in Economics and Finance for a total of 30 hours during your studies.

The School of Economics and Finance at the Queen Mary University of London is delighted to introduce a new Women in Economics and Finance Scholarship worth £3,000 for highly qualified postgraduate taught offer holders joining us in January 2025 (only available programmes). The Scholarship is available regardless of nationality, who meet the following criteria:

  • Achieve a UK High-Upper second-class class Honours or overseas equivalent.

  • Hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme for September intake.

  • Have overseas fee status.

Women in Economics and Finance Scholarships will be awarded automatically to self-funded international students with a UK first-class honours degree (or equivalent) – there is no application or registration process. The scholarship will be deducted from a recipient’s tuition fees when they enrol at Queen Mary.

Terms and Conditions:

  • You must have achieved a UK High-Upper Second Class Bachelor’s degree or an overseas equivalent degree. Information on the comparability of international qualifications can be found on the Entry Requirements section under the listings for each programme in the course finder. Please note this information is only intended as a guide and the final decision on equivalency of overseas qualifications will be made by the QMUL Admissions Office.

  • Your fee status must have been confirmed as ‘Overseas’ by Queen Mary and must remain ‘Overseas’ throughout the programme. This award is not available to applicants assessed as ‘Home’ for fee status purposes, regardless of domicile.

  • You must be enrolled on a full-time master’s programme.

  • You must not be in receipt of any other University scholarship or full-fee scholarship from any other source. Students who are in receipt of a repayable Scholarship loan/award, such as FIDERH, FUNED or COLFUTURO are eligible.

  • You must be fully self-funded.

  • Pre-masters programmes (standalone and integrated) are not included in the Women in Economics and Finance Scholarship scheme.

  • If you are awarded the scholarship, it will be deducted directly from tuition fees payable to the University. You must be able to finance the remainder of your tuition fees and living expenses.

  • The scholarship will be confirmed when your admissions status is ‘unconditional firm’ (UF) and you enrol at Queen Mary.

"Last year, I reached out to SI-UK, Jaipur for my Master’s journey, and it has been an incredibly fulfilling and successful experience. From guiding me through the application process to assisting with letters of recommendation and statement of purpose, and even following up with universities, SI-UK provided comprehensive support at every step of the journey. They went the extra mile, assisting with admissions, fee processing, accommodation arrangements, visa guidance, and coordination on medical checkups. I firmly believe that my admission to the University of Birmingham wouldn't have been possible without SI-UK. I highly recommend SI-UK to anyone seeking admission to a UK or Ireland university."
