Overview

If you are an international secondary school student entering an undergraduate program at the university on a study permit, you may be eligible to receive one of the university's International Merit Awards beginning September 2024.

International Merit Awards are valued at $20,000 CAD over four years ($5,000 CAD x four years) and will be awarded to applicants with a grade point average of 80 per cent or greater as calculated at the time of admission.  Successful applicants will be notified with an offer of scholarship from the university.

Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not eligible for the International Merit Awards.

This award may not be held in conjunction with other scholarships and/or awards, such as the Global Leadership Award, Awards of Recognition, Major Scholarships or In-Course Scholarships.

Student eligibility for renewal:

  • Enrolled in a course load of at least 80 per cent or 12 credit hours (normally, four courses per term)

  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher in your previous year

Note, if your residency status changes to domestic, you will no longer be eligible to receive this award.
