University of Nottingham – GREAT Scholarships 2018 – China
Overview
This year, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Nottingham will be offering seven scholarships (from £5,000 to £5,500) to Chinese students applying for selected courses in our Faculties of Arts, Engineering and Social Sciences.

GREAT Scholarships 2018 – China
In order to support more Chinese students to study in the UK, the British Council, together with 31 UK universities, has launched the GREAT Scholarships 2018 – China campaign. With 145 postgraduate scholarships on offer, the total value of the scholarship scheme is nearly £1 million. This new scholarship scheme will offer an exciting opportunity for Chinese students wishing to get financial support to pursue postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for postgraduate courses in subjects including engineering, law, business, art and design, biosciences, IT and more, at 31 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Who is eligible to apply?
You can apply for GREAT Scholarships 2018 – China scholarships at the University of Nottingham if you:
-
are a national of China, holding a Chinese passport AND
-
are classed as an overseas student for fee purposes AND
-
already hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) to start a full-time masters degree programme at Nottingham in September 2018 in one of the subject areas listed below.*
Eligible courses
- All masters courses in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies (including the Departments of American and Canadian Studies, Culture, Film and Media, and Modern Languages)
- MSc Economics and Financial Economics
- All masters courses in the School of English
- All masters courses in the Faculty of Engineering (including the Departments of Architecture and Built Environment, Civil Engineering, Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering)
- All masters courses in the School of Humanities (including the Departments of Archaeology, Classics, History, History of Art, Music, Philosophy, and Theology and Religious Studies)
- All masters courses in the School of Law
- MA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Candidates may also be invited to a telephone or Skype interview if shortlisted.
*To apply for this scholarship you must first receive an offer to study a masters course at Nottingham in a relevent subject area (see above). You can apply for masters courses through our postgraduate online application system. Applications without offers at the time of application will be discarded as ineligible so please do not apply for the scholarship until you have received an eligible offer from The University of Nottingham.
