£2,000 cash scholarship for five Masters students

We’re thrilled to announce the return of the University Santander Scholarship 2020.
This remarkable opportunity will award ten current UK Northumbria students, who choose to stay with us for a Postgraduate course, with a £2,000 cash scholarship. What you spend it on is up to you. The Santander University Scholarship is available across a wide range of eligible full-time Masters courses, beginning in September 2020.
Applications are now open for the Scholarship. The deadline for applications is Friday 28th August 2020, 4pm.
Terms and Conditions
To be eligible to apply for the Santander University Scholarship, you must:
- Be a current Undergraduate UK student who is studying at Northumbria, and has received student finance in 2019/20
- Have been assessed for student finance based on household income of under £25,000
- Apply for an eligible Newcastle-campus, full-time Masters course starting in September 2019 (listed below)
Important information
- Students selected for a Santander University Scholarship will be eligible for other Northumbria Scholarships and discounts
- The Santander University Scholarship is awarded as a cash sum
- Scholarships will be awarded based on the means-tested household income and on your scholarship application form - your course application form will not be considered
- Students will receive a £2,000 cash payment on full-time eligible courses studied at City and Coach Lane Campus only
- The cash award will be paid as: 25% in November 2019, 25% in February 2020, and 50% in May 2020
- If your course is longer than one year, the scholarship will be provided in the first year of study only
- If you defer your place, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn
- Northumbria reserves the right to withdraw this scheme at any point
- The University's decision is final and cannot be challenged; there is no right of appeal
Selection process
- There is a competitive selection process for this scholarship scheme. Applicants need to apply via online written application; a selection panel will consider all eligible applications. Applications will be considered on the strength of response to, in no more than 250 words: how will studying at Northumbria and being awarded a Santander University Scholarship help you to prepare for your future?
- Successful applicants will be notified once the evaluation panel has met, by no later than Friday 28 August 2020.
