GREAT Scholarships
Overview
In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Northampton is offering two GREAT Scholarships for students starting in January 2023. Scholarships are valued at £10,000 and are available only to nationals of Brunei and Turkey, who are holding a Conditional or Unconditional offer of a place for January 2023.
The GREAT Scholarships 2022-23 programme, launched by the British Council together with 41 UK universities, supports postgraduate students to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.
The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 41 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Available scholarships
We are delighted to offer 2 GREAT Scholarships, each to the value of £10,000 (including a contribution of £5,000 from the British Council); one each for students from Brunei and Turkey.
These scholarships are open only to applicants from Brunei and Turkey, holding an offer in the following subject areas:

Brunei – MSc Advanced Design and Manufacturing, MSc Computing, MSc Public Health and MA Education.

Turkey – The eligible subjects are MSc Advanced Design and Manufacturing, MSc Public Health, MA Education and MSc Computing
Terms and conditions

Scholarships will be open to target country passport holders only.

In each country, scholarships are available ONLY in the subjects listed.

You must be holding an offer to study your chosen course at the University of Northampton, before you can apply for a scholarship.

If you fail to meet the academic or English Language requirement for your chosen programme, the offer of a scholarship will be withdrawn.

The scholarship will take the form of a tuition fee discount and cannot be used in conjunction with any other fee discount. The scholarship holder will remain liable for the remainder of their tuition fees.

The scholarship holder will remain responsible for their living expenses. Current UK government requirements require £1,015 in living costs for each moth of the course, making £9,135 for a course lasting nine months or more.

The scholarship is non-refundable, in the event of a scholarship holder withdrawing from the course.

You must be willing to act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK university and by becoming an advocate for scholarships.

You must be willing to act as an advocate for the University of Northampton by contributing to Social Media output, case studies and being featured in print and non-print promotional material.

You must be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK.

You must be prepared to demonstrate the value and benefit of your UK experience after graduating by maintaining contact with the British Council and acting as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships, by sharing experiences of studying in the UK with future GREAT scholars.

As an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, you must be willing occasionally to speak to potential candidates about your own experience of studying in the UK and at the University of Northampton.

All decisions made by the University of Northampton and its authorised representatives in regard to the award of GREAT Scholarships are final and binding.
