NIHR MSc Studentships in Medical Statistics
Overview
Four studentships are available for the 2019-20 academic year. These studentships are funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and have been made available with the aim of building research capacity in medical statistics; they will be targeted towards students who are planning to go on to work in areas of benefit to the National Health Service.
There will be two deadlines for applications - two studentships will be awarded in April, and two in June. Early application is recommended. Unsuccessful applicants for the April award will automatically be reconsidered for the June award.
The competition for these studentships is high, and applicants are strongly encouraged to seek alternative funding should their application be unsuccessful.
Award & Eligibility for Funding
The studentships are open to UK and EU applicants only.
Each studentship provides tuition fees at the Home/EU fee rate and a stipend (a tax free living allowance). The 2019-20 stipend rate is still to be confirmed. The 2018-19 annual stipend rate is GBP 16,777.00.
How to Apply
To be considered for this funding, you must submit an MSc online application for MSc in Medical Statistics, along with all necessary supporting documentation, by the funding application deadline. There is no separate scholarship application process - all eligible candidates will be considered for this funding.
For scholarship purposes, applications submitted without all the necessary supporting documents are considered incomplete. Any applications for study that do not have all the necessary supporting documents at the scholarship deadline will be considered incomplete and therefore ineligible for this funding.
