Overview
Durham University Business School Achievement Scholarship
Up to 20% of the tuition fee (up to £5,000*)
Number of Achievement Scholarships available: 20+
Awarded to graduates from other UK/EU Higher Education Institutions progressing from undergraduate to postgraduate up to three years of completing their first degree.
Open to applicants for Masters Programmes (excluding Master's in Business Analytics).
Applicants will be considered based upon:
- Academic achievement
- Work or voluntary experience relevant to the programme for which they have applied
- Any additional skills, experience or extra-curricular activities that will add value and indicate that they will make a significant contribution to the cohort on the programme or the Business School.
Terms and Conditions
To be considered for one of the Durham University Business School Scholarships applicants must:
- Complete the appropriate programme application process in full and have received a conditional offer for study by May 31st 2019.
- Be available to take up your programme place in the 2019/20 academic year
- Be willing to participate and cooperate in public marketing activities which the School may organise for the scholarship winners
- Be completely self-funding in order to be eligible for a scholarship. Where fees are paid by an employer, private provider or government body, applicants will not be considered for a scholarship.
- Scholarship fees cover the standard completion timescales of our programmes
- Scholarships are not transferable and not deferrable. They are valid only for use by scholarship winners in the academic year for which the scholarship has been awarded. Applicants who choose to defer entry will be considered for available scholarships available in the year of entry. Acceptance of a scholarship before deferral does not guarantee a scholarship offer during the year of entry.
- There is no cash alternative to be offered if a place on the programme is not taken up.
- Applicants awarded a Durham University Business School Scholarship, will not be eligible for any other Durham University awards or discounts such as alumni discounts.

Achievement Scholarship
Overview
Between €2,000 - €10,000 available.
The number of Achievement Scholarships available: Up to 20
Awarded to applicants who can demonstrate exceptional academic ability and/or professional achievement.
Eligibility Criteria
- Scholarship applicants must submit the following:
- An English-language CV
- University transcript(s) or comparable professional qualification(s)
- 500-word personal statement
- 350-word scholarship statement outlining the following
- the reasons and objectives for pursuing an MBA; (why the applicant’s achievements and expected contributions to the programme merit consideration for a scholarship;
- How the applicant’s personal and professional development is expected to be impacted by the EMBA programme.
- Conditional admission and conditional scholarship offers are typically decided on a semi-monthly basis and require joint agreement by Durham and EBS.
- A conditional offer of admission and a conditional scholarship offer will be issued and communicated to applicants by EBS in a timely manner.
- Conditional offers of admission and conditional scholarship awards will be made unconditional once the applicant has uploaded the full set of required admission documents and a determination has been made that the applicant fulfils all admission criteria and will commence the programme in September of the year of entry.
- All admission documents are to be submitted no later than 31 July to secure a scholarship offer (excluding corporate discounts).
- No scholarships are awarded to applicants who receive an agreed corporate discount or funding from the employer.
- Scholarships awarded for the next programme start date may not be deferred to the subsequent year without joint Durham-EBS approval.
- Scholarship awardees are encouraged to participate and cooperate in public relations and marketing activities which EBS or Durham University Business School may organise.
Scholarship Acceptance
To secure the scholarship award, applicants must confirm their acceptance of the award by:
1. Returning the signed study agreement by the date stated on the scholarship offer email.
2. Returning the signed scholarship acceptance form, in which the recipient confirms their acceptance of the terms and conditions governing scholarship awards.
- Failure to confirm acceptance of the scholarship by this date may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship award offer and the scholarship funds being awarded to another applicant.
