Four UK universities feature in 2025 QS World University Rankings top 10
The 2025 QS World University Rankings were published this week, with four UK universities ranking in the global top 10.
Imperial College London has been named the UK’s top university in the global league table and the second best in the world, beating the University of Oxford (3rd) and the University of Cambridge (5th) for the first time. University College London ranked 9th for the second consecutive year.
The QS rankings are regarded as the most highly respected international league tables. The methodology is based on employer and academic reputation, class sizes, research output and international staff and student numbers.
Imperial’s President, Professor Hugh Brady, said: “Imperial’s ranking is a testament to the quality and commitment of our entire community. It is inspiring to see our students, staff and partners come together every day to interrogate the forces that shape our world and address the challenges facing humanity and our planet.”
