Bicentenary Global Futures Scholarships (USA)
Overview
To celebrate its bicentenary in 2024, Manchester is proud to offer more than 200 awards to international students commencing their studies in September 2024. The total value of scholarships offered will be more than £3.5 million, and awards will be open to prospective bachelor’s and master’s students.
Undergraduate awards
The University of Manchester is proud to offer more than 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships of £21,000 to international students from a selection of countries across the globe.
The Bicentenary Global Futures Scholarships for North America are open to applicants domiciled in the USA
Award details
Each award comprises £7,000 for the first year of study with a further £7,000 awarded in the second and third years of study, conditional on attainment of 60% average in each year. Scholarships will be awarded in the form of a discount on published overseas tuition fees.
Students must be taking one of the following qualifications:â¯Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrolment, High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate, or A-Levels.
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence, predicted grades and your responses to questions in the online application form, which will be emailed to all eligible applicants.
Awardees will be selected based on academic merit, but we will endeavour to achieve a balance in the allocation of the awards by gender, domicile, qualification type and course of study.
Summary of eligibility criteria

Applications for the scholarship should be submitted on the dedicated online form by 15 March 2024. A link to the online application form will be emailed to relevant offer holders. We cannot accept late applications under any circumstances.

Applications will be considered from international fee-paying students domiciled in the USA.

Applicants must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2024 and have, or be working towards one of the following qualifications: Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrolment, High School Diploma, IB Diploma. A-Levels.

Awards offers will be made by 19 April 2024, and will be conditional on academic performance as outlined in the full terms and conditions linked below.

Applicants for the USA awards must have accepted (made firm) a conditional or unconditional offer to study a full-time programme at Manchester by 23 May 2024. Failure to do so may result in any award being withdrawn.

Scholarship applications from Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrolment, IB and A Level students will be assessed on any previous examinations, predicted grades in the above-listed qualifications and the strength of the personal statement.

Applicants must be self-funded (not sponsored). You may apply for the award if you plan on using US Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Applicants for Medicine (MBChB), Dentistry (BDS), Architecture, or any courses with an integrated foundation year are not eligible for the award.

Applicants who have previously studied at a higher education institution in the UK are not eligible for the award.

Applicants for blended and distance learning programmes are not eligible for the award.
Master’s awards
Manchester is proud to offer over 100 merit-based master’s scholarships to prospective international students from a range of countries across the globe.
The value of the Bicentenary Global Futures Scholarships for students from the USA is £8,000; scholarships will be awarded in the form of a discount on published overseas tuition fees.
