2019-20 Amanda Jaclyn Berger Research & Travelling Scholarship
Overview
This scholarship has been established to honour the memory of Amanda Berger, who was a student on the London-based MSc Public Health in 2011-12.
This scholarship, with a total award value of GBP 3,000.00, is intended to help fund research and travel costs associated with the MSc projects of MSc Public Health students. The total funding may be awarded to a single student or split between up to 6 students (minimum award amount of GBP 500.00).
Eligibility for funding
This scholarship is only open to students currently registered on the London-based MSc Public Health course at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. (It is not available to students registered on the MSc Public Health for Development.)
Funding is only available for projects on non-communicable diseases in a low- to middle-income country (LMIC), as per the World Bank list. This funding can be used to contribute towards the costs of travel, costs in the field, and/or laboratory and other expenses of those conducting a lab project. Please note: this scholarship should not support payments for research assistants and/or field staff.
Students returning to their (LMIC) home-country for the MSc project may apply for this travelling scholarship as long as their project is not desk-based.
