Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships for Postgraduate Research

Academic year 2022
Huddersfield, England

Overview

These scholarships within the School of Human and Health Sciences are aimed at the very best Huddersfield graduates and are available from October 2022 for either full-time or part-time MSc by Research and PhD programs. They provide a 100% waiver of fees for UK domiciled students. (International students receive a waiver of the equivalent of home fees and therefore pay only the difference between home and international fees.) The best two MSc applications and best two PhD applications will also receive a £3000 per year bursary for full time study or £1,500 per year for part time study as well as the fee waiver.  These bursaries are only available to exceptional candidates.

We positively encourage applications from groups under-represented in postgraduate research, including (but not limited to) women, LGBTQ+ candidates, BAME candidates, candidates with disabilities, applicants with caring responsibilities, and care leavers.

All VC scholarships are subject to competitive application and application is open to candidates who meet the following criteria.

The scholarships are available from October 2022. Both fee-waivers and fee-waivers with bursaries are available for the standard registration period only. For doctoral awards this will be either 3 years full-time or 6 years-part time and for Master’s by Research awards this will be either 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time. The fee waiver will not apply to any research undertaken outside of this standard registration period, including any write-up period.

"Last year, I reached out to SI-UK, Jaipur for my Master’s journey, and it has been an incredibly fulfilling and successful experience. From guiding me through the application process to assisting with letters of recommendation and statement of purpose, and even following up with universities, SI-UK provided comprehensive support at every step of the journey. They went the extra mile, assisting with admissions, fee processing, accommodation arrangements, visa guidance, and coordination on medical checkups. I firmly believe that my admission to the University of Birmingham wouldn't have been possible without SI-UK. I highly recommend SI-UK to anyone seeking admission to a UK or Ireland university."
