Sustainability Scholarship
Overview
De Montfort University (DMU) is pleased to announce the Sustainability Scholarship for September 2023 study. The scholarship offers a £5,000 discount towards the total value of your course fee and will be awarded to a number of outstanding students domiciled outside of the UK and European Union. This scholarship is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses.
DMU has a long-standing and ambitious commitment to sustainability, meaning the pursuit of social, economic and environmental wellbeing. The university is committed to working towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, which address issues such as poverty, hunger, clean energy and health, and form the centrepiece of DMU's Empowering University plan. The university aims to achieve positive sustainability impacts through its teaching, research and external partnership working. The Education for Sustainable Development project works with course leaders, staff and students to ensure that sustainability issues are addressed in all of DMU courses and wider activities.
We are looking for our Sustainability Scholars to support DMU’s work on sustainability, both during their time at university and in the future as part of DMU’s alumni network. Successful applicants will report to members of the Sustainability Team on how they are prioritising sustainability in their academic work, as well as in their extracurricular engagement and post-study plans. They will contribute a portion of time to the work of the Education for Sustainable Development’ project and Sustainability Team by assisting with events, talks, and marketing activities.
