UK universities at forefront of fight against Coronavirus
25th Mar 2020
Five UK universities are at the forefront of the fight against Coronavirus after being granted millions in research spending.
The six research projects, including two focused on vaccination trials, will be the first to benefit from a share of £20 million in government investment. Projects will answer questions such as:
- Who in the population is at higher risk of severe illness?
- What is the best way to diagnose the disease?
- What is happening in their immune systems to help or harm them?
Universities that will benefit from the research grants include the University of Edinburgh, University of Liverpool, University of Oxford, Imperial College London and Queen's University Belfast.
