UCAS eliminará los requisitos de declaración personal para las solicitudes de ingreso a universidades del Reino Unido

A partir de septiembre de 2025, los estudiantes que soliciten ingreso a la universidad a través de UCAS se enfrentarán a un proceso de solicitud renovado diseñado para brindar un mejor apoyo a aquellos de entornos desfavorecidos.

Para nivelar el campo de juego, la declaración personal tradicional de respuesta libre, que permitía hasta 4000 caracteres, será reemplazada por tres preguntas obligatorias. Las nuevas preguntas serán:

¿Por qué quieres estudiar este curso o materia?
¿Cómo te han preparado tus calificaciones y estudios para este curso o materia?
¿Qué más has hecho para prepararte fuera de la educación y por qué son útiles estas experiencias?

Este cambio aborda las preocupaciones de que el formato de ensayo anterior favorecía a los solicitantes con acceso a un amplio apoyo. Las preguntas estructuradas seguirán permitiendo a los estudiantes el mismo recuento de palabras, pero brindarán una guía más clara, lo que UCAS cree que ayudará a todos los solicitantes a presentar sus logros y aspiraciones de manera más efectiva.
