Solent University has been awarded TEF Silver
In recognition of the excellent teaching, Solent University was awarded TEF silver in June 2018. The Teaching Excellence and Student outcome Framework was introduced by the UK government to assess and recognise teaching excellence in higher education. This framework informs the students to make better choices with regards to their courses and UK institutions.
TEF awards are decided by an independent panel of experts including academics, students and employer representatives. Solent has been awarded Silver for its excellent practice and performance in:

- Excellent teaching practice with an embedded approach
- Substantial investment in learning resources
- Integration of research & professional practice into curriculum
- Promoting student employment through professional mentoring and business start-up support
The TEF measures excellence in three areas: teaching quality, the learning environment and the educational and professional outcomes achieved by students
