Most sustainable universities in the UK announced

The only independent league table of UK universities ranked by environmental and ethical performance has been revealed following the publication of the 2021 People & Planet University League.

Manchester Metropolitan University was named the most sustainable university in the UK, with the table recognising the University’s commitment to cutting carbon emissions, working towards a zero-carbon future and putting sustainability at the heart of its ethos.

The top five was completed by King's College London, Nottingham Trent University, De Montfort University and Cardiff Metropolitan University. The league table assessed 154 institutions based on 13 categories including environmental policy and strategy, carbon reduction and sustainability staff.
