51% of Indian graduates from UK earn above average

82% Indian UK Graduates are Satisfied with Choosing UK as Study Destination; 51% Earn Above Average Salaries.

As per a survey conducted by Indian Graduate Outcomes 2019 study, it has been observed that 1000 Indian students out of 16,000 students from records of study between January 2011 and July 2016 are satisfied with choosing the United Kingdom as their study destination. Looking at feedback from the survey there is no doubt that UK universities provide an intellectually stimulating learning environment where international students get a chance to interact with some of the best minds and leading academicians in their respective area of study. As per the survey, Indian graduates who have studied in the UK state that they earn above-average salaries in their work life. 51% of all Indians graduating from the UK, 90% of women in this group have mentioned that they earn above average. 60% of Indian students said that they get jobs in line with their field of study, with 82% attaining satisfaction with their careers. "The job satisfaction of UK graduates is higher because chances of getting the job increase. I think this also leads to more effective work performance and more recognition for one's work. UK graduates working in India in Managerial roles was 23% higher than the global average," said Vivienne Stern, Director, Universities UK International, a collective body representing more than 130 universities.

A group of delegates of senior representatives from 20 UK Universities is currently on a visit to India to engage Indian stakeholders to understand the vision and assess the role UK universities and the country can play to strengthen the relationship further and work efficiently towards education and research. This delegation is supported by the UK-India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI).As per the latest immigration statistics released by the UK Home Office, there is 42% increase in the number of Indian students in 1 year. This number of Indian students heading to the UK for study is increasing rapidly. British Council offers close to 500 Scholarships each year. As per Barbara Wickham OBE, Director India, British Council, “we also facilitate and support research collaborations and partnerships between educational institutions in the two countries every year".
