Northumbria is also one of the best universities for sport, and consistently ranks in the top 20 of the British Universities and Colleges Sport table. More than 550 employers sponsor degree programmes and accreditation comes from almost 50 professional bodies. This is one of the highest rates in the UK. Northumbria also offers 'clinical' courses (Medicine), and law courses accredited by the Law Society and Bar Council. These allow graduates direct entry to the profession after their degree.
