Liverpool John Moores University Visiting Delhi
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) was originally founded in 1825 as the Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts. The School of Arts merged with different colleges over the years to become the Liverpool Polytechnic. In 1992, the Polytechnic became one of the UK's new generation universities and assumed the name Liverpool John Moores University. LJMU is one of the largest universities in the UK, with almost 25,000 students, and about 350 km north of London.
It was a pioneer of multimedia teaching and has one of the UK’s most well-equipped media centres. Many lectures are delivered by computer, maximizing students’ one-to-one tutorial time with their lecturers.
LJMU guarantees all new students a place in university accommodation for the first year of study. University run accommodation is available in multiple halls of residence near the three campuses. Rooms are available as standard, en suite and studio apartments. Rooms with shared facilities are generally arranged in flats of five or six rooms per kitchen. Liverpool is an affordable place to live as a student, and the Accommodation Office can help those who wish to live in private rented accommodation.
